Bovec basin is situated in the extreme north-west part of Slovenia - the land hollowed by the
emerald beauty Soča and given a soul by a various history. The valley was of importance already
in the roman period when the roman route lead through it to the north. Today its advantage is in
remoteness from the bustling city life but still close enough to be accessible to all of those
who need relaxation.
The heart of the valley is Bovec, a town lying at the northern edge of the Bovec basin. It
is surrounded by peaks that are popular visiting points for mountaineers. In town there are
some hotels and a hospice and the tourist offer is supplemented by a sports airport, camping
site and cable-way to Prestreljeniški podi.
