Bovec basin is situated in the extreme north-west part of Slovenia - the land hollowed by the emerald beauty Soča and given a soul by a various history. The valley was of importance already in the roman period when the roman route lead through it to the north. Today its advantage is in remoteness from the bustling city life but still close enough to be accessible to all of those who need relaxation.
The heart of the valley is Bovec, a town lying at the northern edge of the Bovec basin. It is surrounded by peaks that are popular visiting points for mountaineers. In town there are some hotels and a hospice and the tourist offer is supplemented by a sports airport, camping site and cable-way to Prestreljeniški podi.

Log pod Mangrtom is, beside Žaga, Lepena and Srpenica, another small place, a part of the Upper Soča Valley. It is known for the river Koritnica with two small hydro-electric power stations. There are a lot of holiday-houses there and once important traffic settlement is becoming more and more touristic. Visitors of Bovec basin will enjoy themselves above all if they love nature because they will enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, mountain tours and skiing. And those who love adrenalin will be able to try rafting, canyoning, paragliding, adrenalin descents by bike, extreme skiing and more...
Trenta is famous above all for the spring of the river Soča which is among the most beautiful springs in the Alps. To some people it is known for the monument to Julius Kugy, to others for the Information Centre for Triglav National Park and Trenta museum collection.
